Dress Rehearsal Guidelines June 2017

Dress Rehearsal General Guidelines

There are a lot of components involved in staging our recitals.  Dress Rehearsal attendance is MANDATORY.  Dress Rehearsal is a time for all students to run through their dances in full costumes and make-up, to get a feel for the stage.  It’s also when the sound and light technicians will set sound and light cues for each dance.  Following these guidelines will help this rehearsal run smoothly.

Arrival

Dress Rehearsal will be held at Bingham High School, 2160 W 10400 S, South Jordan, UT 84095.  Please arrive 15 minutes before stage time.   Dancers are to go directly backstage.  Students will check in and remain backstage until the end of their stage time.   Plan on about 30-45 minutes from the time they check in.  Students can be picked up where they checked in.

Costumes

Dancers need to arrive in costume, with hair and makeup done.  Please make sure that you have all parts to your costume and hair accessories.

Hair and Makeup

Hair is in a left part bun, bangs secured to the side, off the face.  Dancers with short hair: please pull away from face.  Generally, all makeup should consist of the following: foundation, powder, blush, neutral colored eye shadow, eyeliner, mascara, and red lipstick.   We recommend:
Lipstick color:  Revlon ColorStay Overtime in Ultimate Wine, available at Walgreens and Walmart.  Please NO shades of brown or purple lipstick or blue eye shadow.  For our younger dancers a little blush and lip gloss is appropriate.  Stage lights can pale the dancer’s face, applying makeup can enhance how they look during the show.  Don’t be afraid to apply more than usual.

Rehearsal Etiquette:
ü  Don’t miss your stage time!
ü  Arrive in costume.  Warmed up to dance.
ü  Arrive on time!  We follow the schedule very closely.
